Weekly Syllabus

Week of Monday, February 21 through Friday, February 25

This week we will finish up our study of America's first steps toward empire and go to the brink of World War I. This week will also mark the beginning of the Spring term research project. If you have questions about the research project, or would like help coming up with topics, this would be a great week to conference!

Monday, February 21, 2011-SNOW DAY

Topic: Time in class to prepare for presentations. What would this term be without another snow day? Anyway, it wouldn't be fair to expect you to make a group presentation without time to work with your group, and due to test priority days, tomorrow is the only possible day to do the presentations. So the group presentations are cancelled.

Homework: Read the material from the packet.

Tuesday, February 22, 2011 (50 minutes)

Topic: Group Presentations in the Imperialism debate. Today we will have class discussion about the material. You should be conversant with the packets, and class participation points will be triple their usual value. This will be your last chance to earn points this term, so I hope to hear from you!

Homework: Read pp.647-652 (The Decision for War ) in AP&AN.
