Week of Monday, January 23 through Friday, January 27


This week we will finish up our study of the Civil War.  We will also take some time to learn all the ins and outs of citing sources and formatting a history paper.  This will come in handy, as your major research paper "Was slavery the cause of the Civil War--yes or no?" is due on Friday, February 10th.


Monday, January 23, 2012 (40 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 419-422 (Death Toll)

 

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 (50 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 422 (Death Toll)- 424.  Also, read Abraham Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address.


Wednesday, January 25, 2012 (45 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 428-431 (The Meanings of Freedom)

 

Thursday, January 26, 2012 (50 minutes)

Topic: Everything you need to know about citing sources and writing your paper.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 431 (The Meanings of Freedom)-436 (Johnson's Reconstruction Plan).

 

Friday, January 27, 2012 (45 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: No actual homework, but this would be a good weekend to spend considerable time on your cause of the Civil War paper.
