Weekly Syllabus

Week of Monday, January 21 through Friday, January 25

This week we will finish up our study of the Civil War.  We will also take some time to learn all the ins and outs of citing sources and formatting a history paper.  This will come in handy, as your major research paper "Was slavery the cause of the Civil War--yes or no?" is due on Friday, February 8th.

Don't forget that we will have our Civil War test next Wednesday, January 30th. Time to start studying!

Monday, January 21, 2013 (40 minutes)

Topic: Special Martin Luther King Day class.

Homework: If you haven't done so already, finish reading AP&AN pp. 412-416 (1864). Read AP&AN pp. 419-424; also read Abraham Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address.

 

Tuesday, January 22, 2013 (50 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 (40 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Thursday, January 26, 2012 (50 minutes)

Topic: Finish up discussion of the reading.

Homework: Answer the purple questions from Ch. 15.  Please email your answers to me by the start of class tomorrow.  Proofread your writing before sending it!

 

Friday, January 27, 2012 (45 minutes)

Topic: Civil War Generals

Homework: No actual homework, but this would be a good weekend to spend considerable time on your cause of the Civil War paper.
