Week of Monday, May 9 through Friday, May 13


This week I will return your first drafts to you. When you receive them, read the comments carefully, and conference with me if you have any questions. Then begin writing (and researching, as necessary) your revisions. Don't save it for the last minute! When you submit your final draft, attach the original draft with it, including the rubric.

Keep up with the reading. We're almost there...


Monday, May 9, 2011 (40 minutes)

Returned: First Drafts. Remember that the final draft is due next Wedesday, May 19th (the History test priority day).

Topic: Paper feedback. Martin Luther King. Kennedy and Johnson on Civil Rights.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 877 -883 (1968)

 

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 (45 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read the following sections in AP&AN pp. 894 (Affirmative Action )-897 (The End in Vietnam) ; 901 (Nixon, Kissinger and the World)-904 (Antiradicalism) skip 903.

Topic: Discussion of reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 911 (An Era of Cultural Transformation) -913 (Renewed Cold War) ; 923-926 (Reaganomics).



Friday, May 14, 2011 (45 minutes)

Topic: Discssion of the reading.

Homework Read AP&AN pp. 931-938. Work on revising your paper.
