Weekly Syllabus

Week of Monday, September 24 through Friday, September 28


During the week we will study the Declaration of Independence and finish up Chapter 6.  While this week may superficially seem to give you little work, appearances can be deceiving! With our first test looming before us a week from Tuesday, this is an important time for you to conference and make sure that your notes will be effective study aids. 


Monday, September 24, 2012 (40 min)

Topic:Discussion of the reading. 
Homework: Read the Declaration of Independence (p. A-1 and A-2 at the back of the textbook).


Tuesday, September 25, 2012 (45 min)

Topic: Discussion of the reading that you did over the weekend.
Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 153 (The Struggle in the North)-158 (Victory in the South).

Wednesday, September 26, 2012 (50 min)


Topic
: Discussion of the Declaration of Independence.
Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 158-163.
 

Thursday, September 27, 2012 (45 min)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.
Homework: TBA

Friday, September 28, 2012 (40 min)

Topic: Reviewing for the test.
Homework: Study for the test. To help with this, before Monday's class please put the following in the GoogleDocs folder I emailed you about:

Four questions that you think SHOULD be on the test.  Your questions should include:
    • 1 multiple choice question (please write the question and the four choices, and circle the correct answer.
    • 2 study guide terms from the list on the download page. For each of them, please write an answer that gives the Who? What? When? Where? Why? and So What?
    • 1 essay question that is "pre-outlined".  Write a sample essay question and list 3 points that should be included in a good answer.
