Weekly Syllabus

Week of Monday, September 19 through Friday, September 23

During this week we will continue our leadup to the Revolutionary War.  We will finish Ch. 5 by Wednesday, and will start Ch. 6.  Please note that our first test will happen on a T day after we finish Ch. 6.  If all goes well, we will have our first test of the year a week from Thursday (September 28th). The test will cover everything we have gone over since the start of school (Chapters 4-6, plus what we read in Chapter 3). This week might be a good time for your first conference session!

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 136 (Stamp Act Crisis)- 138

Tuesday, September 20, 2011 (50 min)

Quiz:   On the end of Chapter 5.

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 144 (Contest in the Backcountry) -150 (War and Independence). Please skip p. 146 and p. 149.

Wednesday, September 21, 2011 (40 min)

Topic: Review of the reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 150-153 (The Struggle in the North).

Thursday, September 22, 2011 (50 min)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read The Declaration of Independence (version will be handed out in class).

Friday, September 23, 2011 (45 min)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read AP&AN pp. 153-158 (Victory in the South). This is a little long.  Do your best, but you might want to get a head start on this assignment.
