I have postponed your Supreme Court Justice bios until the Monday night when we return (January 4th). You will have a different writing project this week. We will also study three different cases. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 (50 min)Topic: Discussion of the written assignment. Introduction to the First Amendment. Homework: We will begin our focus of the First Amendment by looking at cases related to student speech. Please read Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District (1969). Kapolka, Saba, P. McMullan and Wallace will read the majority decision and concurrance. Kopervas, M. McMullan, Ruane, and Louis will read the dissents. Everybody should read the syllabus page.
