Weekly Syllabus

Week of Monday, February 8 through Friday, February 12

This week we will begin our study of two of the major cases that reached the Court during the Presidency of Richard M. Nixon: the Pentagon Papers case and the White House tapes. These cases generally revolve around issues of the First Amendment and the doctrine of Executive Privilege, and they had far reaching impact on the politics of the United States. We'll take some time to study the history of the period, so that we can put the cases into better perspective.
