This week we will continue our look at labor-management relations in sports by examining significant labor stoppages that resulted in the cancellation of games in the major sports.  


Monday, January 30, 2012 -NO SCHOOL TODAY

Homework:

Tuesday, January 31, 2012 (45 minutes)

Topic: Intro to the plan for the week. Assignment of sports to study.

Homework: You will be given a chapter of the Sports Economics book (pages to be assigned in class).  Please have your section read by the start of class on Thursday.

 

Wednesday, February 1, 2012 (50 minutes)

Topic: Use class time today to finish up your assignment from the Sports Economics book.

Homework:Finish the reading as necessary.  Answer the questions assigned to you in class.  


Thursday, February 2, 2012 (35 minutes)

Topic: Discussion of the reading. 

Homework: Research information about labor stoppages for your sport in the historical newspaper database as explained in class.


Friday, February 3, 2012 (45 min)

Topic:Time in class to keep researching articles in the newspaper database.

Homework: No homework.  On Monday we will have more in-class time to research.  Next Tuesday you will give an oral summary of what you've found.  2-3 page paper due next Thursday.
