Weekly Syllabus

Week of Monday, January 11 through Friday, January 15


This week we will continue to study key cases relating to the right to privacy, specifically cases relating to abortion rights.

We won't have class on Friday, as I will be out of town that day. You will be informed of a writing project at the start of the week, and you should plan to use class time on Friday to work on the project.


Monday, January 11, 2010 (40 min)

Topic:  Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read Roe v. Wade (1973)-read the syllabus and the majority opinion thru section VII.

 

Tuesday, January 12, 2010 (50 min)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.
Homework: Finish Roe , including the concurrence and dissent.

 

Wednesday, January 13, 2010 (45 min)

Topic: Discussion of the reading.

Homework: Read syllabus of Planned Parenthood of Southeastern PA v. Casey (1992).

 

Thursday, January 14, 2010 (50 min)

Topic: Summary of Webster v. Reproductive Health Services (1989). Discussion of the reading.
Homework: Finish reading Planned Parenthood of Southeastern PA v. Casey (1992) by Monday.
 

 

Friday, January 15, 2010 (45 min) --NO CLASS TODAY

Topic: Work on the reading.

Homework: By Monday you should be caught up with the reading. By Tuesday you will need to have read the articles on the main page of the Ning.
