Week of Monday, April 16 through Friday, April 20

This week we will start to wind up our study of the 1960's (we'll move on to the 1970's by the middle of next week) and we will focus on the youth movement and protests of the later part of the decade.

Topic: Dylan goes electric.  Electrified "folk-rock".  The increasing significance of drugs to pop culture.

Topic: An episode of the tv show Star Trek 

Homework:Write a response to the episode on the Ning.

Wednesday, April 18, 2012 (40 min)

Topic: Increasing fears of nuclear war in film and television of the 1960s. Also, growing concerns about product safety and preservation of the environment.

Topic: Begin James Brown movie.

Friday, April 20, 2012 (40 min)

Topic: Finish James Brown movie.

Homework: Write a response to the questions about the James Brown movie on the Ning.
