Week of Monday, April 2 through Friday, April 6

This week we will begin our study of the 1960's. We'll also have a chance to listen to lots of music, which means you'll need to take notes and write your response papers.

Monday, April 2, 2012 (40 min)-NO CLASS TODAY

Topic:  As mentioned on Friday, you should come to check in at the library.  During class, please read and comment on 3 of your classmates' blogs.

Homework: 

Tuesday, April 3, 2012 (50 min)

Topic:The Folk Revival and Bob Dylan's topical music.

Homework: Write a response to today's music. Read the articles (on the Ning) and reflect on the ability to write a song from the headlines. Optional extra credit: for next week you can try to write your own protest song.

Wednesday, April 4, 2012 (45 min)

Topic:  Music Class # 4 (Brill Building, Beach Boys, British Invasion)

Homework: Write a response to today's music class on the Ning.

Thursday, April 5, 2012 (40 min)

Topic: Beatlemania.  Overview of the Beatles' music through the 60's.

Homework: Write a response to today's music class on the Ning.

Friday, April 6, 2012 --NO CLASS TODAY--LONG WEEKEND
