Weekly SyllabusWeek of Monday, March 14 through Friday, March 18 Welcome to the class! I look forward to working with you as we study significant aspects of American culture during the years 1945-1995. We will focus on music, tv and movies, and technology, while also taking detours to look at major cultural events and movements. This should be a lot of fun! This week we will begin our term with the end of World War II, and the rise of consumerism in America following the shortages of money and goods endured in the Great Depression and the war. Thursday, March 17, 2011 (45 min)Topic: Finish up Lucy. Discussion of the show, and background about popular music in the first half of the 20th century. Homework: work on your paper. It is due at 11pm MONDAY . By 11pm on TUESDAY you should have read everyone else's paper and written a comment on the Ning.
