This week we will continue our discussion of President Reagan and the politics of the 1980's. We are in the home stretch here--only 11 classes to go as of the start of the week. Please make sure that you are working diligently on your final paper. If you haven't conferenced with me, and/or met with the librarians you should do so immediately!!

Topic: More on President Reagan's economic policies.
Homework: Finish up your feedback of your peers' papers tonight.

Topic: Reagan's Foreign Policy; America's resurgent military and the revival of patriotism. The Iran-Contra Scandal, and ethical lapses of the Reagan years; President Bush (I)

Thursday, November 5, 2009 (45 min)

Topic: Finish up Reagan. Introduction to the first President Bush and the end of the Cold War.
Homework: Read the Reagan/Cold War articles linked on the main page of the Ning. Then read this packet and be prepared to talk about it in class. Take notes on each of the documents included. You may want to print it out.
 

Friday, November 6, 2009 (45 min)

Topic: Discussion about last night's reading. This will be a graded discussion that will take the place of a group writing assignment. I'd like everyone to speak up in class today.

Homework: Work on your papers.
